[rant]I advocate anything that doesn't hurt other people. imo as long as it doesn't harm other people it is okay. as a general rule drugs arn't the best thing for anyone's health, neither is eating at McDonanlds. but if someone decides to do drugs I don't think anyone in the world has the right to stop them. By all means educate everyone about drugs, tell them the good the bad and the ugly but don't use force to stop them from using them unless their drug use physically hurts others, or destroys other peoples lives. just because it "offends" some people isn't enough reason to make something illegal. saying the words "god dammit" offends some people, but no one goes to prison for saying it.[/rant]
oh and I do not think children who's bodies and minds are still developing should use drugs, which is another benefit for regulating all drugs. (caffeine included)

I agree on the regulating of drugs. Just try to bare with me here.
If weed (the only drug I realy give a metabolic end product about, I rarely drink alcohol or coffee, and have never touched an 'energy drink' in my entire life and not planning to) trade and growth was in hands of the state it could have some good consequences:
a) Prices would be fair (quality/price ratio I mean) which would kinda discourage the black market, or they (the black market) would have to sell decent stuff at bargin(sp?) prices.
b) Since the growth is also monitored and regulated much better quality products would be available, and the government would have the power to regulate how much THC is in the weed, etc.
c) The government would have a much better perspective at who smokes weed and how often (and not like now with these statistics that make me Lol). You could even implement a card system wich allows you to only purchase a set amount a month (yes the black market would still exist, but meh you can't stop a man who realy wants something).
There are probably more positive things to be said about this, just look at the Dutch system. It rocks (but they could have done certain things a bit different imo).

Keeping people healthy is not the only reason drugs are banned.
Imagine that your whole family is killed in a car accident which was caused by a junkie.
I rest my case.

Lol dude.
Imagine that your whole family is killed in a car accident which was caused by a loose cat.
You gonna ban cats too?
See how that reasoning is kinda flawed.

Would you blame the junkie or your family in the first place? :P

well then ban alcohol as well that causes many more fatal accidents than any other drug.
either drugs should all be regulated or ALL drugs should be banned, that is really the only fair way to do it. there is no reason to think that weed, or any other drug for that matter, is any more dangerous than alcohol, which causes more fatal traffic accidents than cocaine, meth, heroine, PCP, and ecstasy combined. (the only accidents weed causes are, making the wrong turn, and driving 20 mph/kph under the speed limit)
I rest my case.

Let's ban salt. It dehydrates the body.

The reason you hear so much about car accidents caused by drunk people is probably that alcohol is LEGAL to access unlike drugs.

It's probably because ppl who smoke weed don't feel like driving a car. Too much hassle.

I agree
@ Chris, I am only making a point. Honestly most people do drugs because they enjoy the feeling and they don't usually drive because they don't want to have to try to deal with that. there are a bunch of people who DO drive while affected by drugs but that is a small percentage compared to those who drink and drive. Idk something about alcohol that makes people stop thinking about things before they do them, so someone who is drunk is much more likely to drive than any "junkie". and I hate to break it to you but. by definition alcohol is a drug
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/drug
(I don't like the word junkie because it generalizes all drug users, and not everyone who does drugs do them constantly on a daily basis, and not everyone is addicted. It would be like me calling everyone who has ever had ANY alcohol an alcoholic)

This board is slowly becoming the second dxaplha with douches arguing over unimportant metabolic end product.
