Top Shot Derby

An [HK] sponsored function to be held in several games, dates pending.

Derby overseers will be appointed by voluntary offer. First come first serve basis.

Server hosts will be required in order to hold the event in the following games:

DEUS EX

HALO

PROJECT SNOWBLIND

QUAKE 3

We already have Derby hosts for CounterStrike(both), HalfLife(both), Unreal Tournament(2003), DayofDefeat(1.6).

The event will be a trial deathmatch using only a sniping weapon in combat. In CS the only weapons enabled will be scout rifles. In DX it will be the default sniper rifle. In Halo it will be the sniper rifle. In PSB it will be the sniper. In UT it will be the lightning gun. In Q3 it will be the railgun.

Derby overseers will number as a total of two for each game.

The events will not take place in the games that have no volunteers to host. If you know of someone willing to lend out a server for the event then refer them here.

Some questions...

1. How much server time do you need?

2. When do you need it?

3. Can you make a specific request, if not estimate what your needs are?

4. How are you sponsoring the event?

1. Standard clan protocol has events a duration of 25 minutes per map in the rotation.

2. The server(s) should be booked after the most contestants the server(s) can hold have signed up. When we have a complete list of participants we can begin to calculate a date and distribute it to those players.

3. An example of what would be requested, would be a fairly stable server capable of holding at least 7 players, containing only the allotted weapon for the event. In the case of a DX server; the sniper rifle.

4. Several of our representatives who have influence over other gaming communities and host several popular servers are expanding this event in HK's name. Since we are hosting and overlooking it, we are in turn, sponsoring it.

If we don't get enough participants in a game or at least two hosts we cancel the Derby for that game.

We now have seven contestants for the CounterStrike Derby. The event is still allowing late sign-ups but if you do not sign-up before 9/16/08 you will not be allowed in.

On the 17th of September, 2008 [HK.DM] Organized Online Gaming Syndicate will be sponsoring our very first Top Shot Derby event!

On this day will be the HK/DM Top Shot Derby CounterStrike 1.6 Preliminary Tournament.

This event will decide which four snipers will qualify for the Quarterfinals.

He is in the UT and CS Divisions, but after a week of playing DX again he reported that it was even worst now than when he left. So he may not apply for the DX Division because of all the mod and RPG servers.

Reclaimer is signed up for the UT event, however, so is OnTheRange, who is currently the top player in the midwest. Since Rec is retired, and also since even at his prime in UT he was only the top player in the west coast, never the country, he will probably not win.

It's open to ALL DXMP players, not just HK.

Precisely, the Deus Ex Derby, like all the others, are open to the public. We currently have five contestants and one European host for the DX TSD. If we can get several more contestants and an American host we can hold the event in Deus Ex.

btdm is an abomination, 18 Walton Simons in the same map.

atdm seems to me, more like Deus Ex, starting with nothing and working up.

That surprises me, because he was the person helping FGS configure the new Wunderland when Icho was absent. It was BB who noticed we had the wrong superrocket etc. I would have said he was a fan of the editing community.

Facetown will make other RPG servers seem boring and familiar, so at least there will be some quality RPG soon. As for mod servers, well, we are bringing newer smaller maps, new lams, we are fixing as much of the problem as we can. And we do change gametype for events, wars etc.
