Recording Sounds from other games...

Post by ShadowRunner »

I have the half-life uplink demo and opposing force demo...

I want the sounds from it, for a DXSG map... (more horror!)

I want the sound of scientists screaming mainly, but some other sounds too, anything horror-ish...

What software would/could I use to record them and then bring into modplug?

but why that level?

The dam level, the hangar level, any level but that one lol...

And Sniper, Jesus Christ @ your ladder... the rungs are six feet apart...

Maybe you should make a separate topic about this map...

are you doing the whole game, or only converting a few levels?

Before when Sniper put up a picture of this on RtK I was the first that recognised it, then some of them said they never played Half Life. :shock:

ask a mate for a cable with 3,5mm audio jack on both sides or get one in the nearest audio/music store. Plug one end in the green speaker connector (back of your computer) and the second one in the red microphone connector.

get Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

install it, open up, click record (red circle)

play your game, make scientists scream, close the game

stop recording, then cut out the audio and cut out the sounds you want, paste them and save as a .wav file.

Then just import them into modplug.

Simple.

//edit - I'm pretty sure there's a software that will record audio-out without using that cable, when I find it, I'll post - K.
