DXAG server going down.

It's long ago, that people played on that server.
It doesn't seem that this will change in future, so the server is a waste of capacity.

Complains about the decision and suggestions, what else could be hosted instead go here.

That can't be said in general. It always depends on the stuff that is being hosted.
A heavy game type like SG can just be handled with less slots than a slim game type, for instance.
Thus, we needed to try it out.

OK I would say host Facetown when it arrives, or a CTDM server with a mix of good FGS maps and classics. or a Bowens server. but to be honest AG rocks... shame we can't get on there and play it.

The major players from AG are gone, Dae, Alex, Undead. B2S survive and Sheek Louch, I can not say where they are now. Chinny was another top AG player I remember, myself too. Chinny and I go on sometimes, but no-one joins, if they do, its very unbalanced and generally slaughter. Also the medic seemed like the old version, which I found personally off-putting and ruining the other classes to some extent, that players did not develop any AG skills, they just chose medic and rampaged. But I don't think the medic is the problem, it's simply lack of players who understand the gametype and know how to give a good game.

I will be very sad to see it go. It was my best gametype.

And to be honest, if you removed Wunderland, AG server would be full I think

For medic I have two solutions.
1. Remove Ballistic protection
or
2. Give him normal darts instead of tranquilizer darts

Dae and Alex chose option 2. It worked quite well. It became a team game, and medic could not really attack anyone. The best medic without any doubt was Dae. 99% of medics are useless, just watch their team run through gas and don't listen for "aaarrgh"... you really need healing in that situation to see ok and fight. And medics don't realize how close they need to be to the soldier or engineer all the time.

I would prefer an invincible harmless medic to a vulnerable, powerful medic. Logic says it would be a more skilled game. But then it's not my mod and I don't know everything about it.

I will go on AG now... and see how long it takes to fill...

Apologies for double post, but I can see two reasons why players are not using the server...

1. The wobbling movement bug is back, the server is unplayable.

2. Mapvote is on. The noobs will repeat vote Area51, people will leave.

I played it a few times in Zangoh i think was a interesting twist to dx.

Yes, several people think that it's interesting but the server is still empty.

@Shadow: I restarted the server, the movement glitch disappeared.
