When a story ends.. - G4Y TOPIC

BECAUSE
well *love* knows...
So leik, when a story you spent a long time with ends, it feels strange afterwards. I felt the same when I finished reading Harry Potter books or when I saw the final episode of Prison Break today. I just know that it won't ever come back and it's odd. I'm happy that it's over because the pressure is gone, but in the same time I'm going to miss it.
Anyone ever felt anything like this?

Yes, I felt like that, when the last Stargate season ended.
It was like.. oh well, now the end is there.. what do I do now?

Yes, when I see some cartoons, and they end, I feel strange liek it ends, and I like watching it again, but sadly I've watched all of it :O

To get this topic back on track before an inevitable padlock clicks into place, I too have had similar. Especially with a good book. It's like: "metabolic end product, done that, now what?"

I would have to say I have felt the same thing, but only in certain situations. When a story delivers proper closure, it's all good. But in the case of (and I hate to pull an example from my more-homo-than-usual middle school/anime days) Inuyahsa it just pisses me off. After 160-something episodes Sheshomaru is not dead, Naraku is not dead, the jewel isn't intact, Inuyasha and Kagome hadn't fucked, Sango and Miroku hadn't fucked and Shippo and Kilala hadn't fucked. And they just left it there.

I think that was the day I said "*love* this" to anime. Only a select few are even worth it, and even then its debatable.

But if the story ties up all of the loose ends, I'm very happy for it to be over, so new ones can fill the time.

In the meantime, read The Alphabet of Manliness, the book that keeps on giving.

The only anime (series) I've watched with any degree of seriousness is Outlaw Star. I've also seen Akira, and while wierd, it's a fcuking awesome film too.

I only get the feeling when the story's actually good. HP is awesome.
Prison Break wasn't that great, especially the last 2 seasons but the ending was awesome.

WHAT?! I can't say about the last 2 seasons because I totally lost interest in TV but come on, the first season especially was the best thing ever.
