He antagonised that leg by making a show of eating in front of a starving limb.

I've seen this before on TV.. I don't remember which program..
the owners said that he was mentally ill and is now being treated.

Re: My favourite video of January
I think he was going to scrape himself but as he was eating, somehow he considered his limb an enemy that might want to take his prey.
Another similar theory of mine would be that he has alien hand syndrome (also known as Dr. Strangelove Syndrome because of Stanley Kubrick's movie which was based on a character suffering from it). I'm not quite sure that this syndrome could appear on living beings other than humans but the symptoms were very similar. The point of alien hand syndrome is that a person loses control over one or more of his limbs. This results in the limb "living its own life", doing things you wouldn't want it to do. For instance you can sit at a table eating your lunch and see your hand grabbing a glass and throwing it away. From a third person's view it would look like you're dumb or agressive or whatever, but medically you couldn't be blamed for anything.

Yes I've read about this. It appears that the hand is being controlled by the subconscious of the individual as opposed to the conscious. So if you are, in the back of your head, thinking "I want to pick up that jam", your hand will do so. Of course, if you think, in the front of your mind "I do not want to throw the jam at the child", in the back of your mind you may be thinking "Oh no, I am going to throw the jam at the child because of my syndrome!", and the child will acquire jam as a result.~[FGS]SaSQuATcH~ wrote:I think he was going to scrape himself but as he was eating, somehow he considered his limb an enemy that might want to take his prey.

It's a lot like thinking "I SURE HOPE I DON'T THINK OF ZOMBIES" in the middle of a lucid dream, I imagine...
OR the dog is just a little food protective, and mentally special, went to scratch its self, and protected the food from its self. Of course, this could be related to bad coordination. The dog can't see its foot at first, and may have expected to scratch its self much further down its body... When it felt its foot closer to the middle of its body, it may have expected an intruder.
