Altfire war/tournament

Post by Alessi »

Hey guys :D

I was recently thinking about organising some sort of altfire war just for fun. Everyone would just come online at an agreed time and teams will be picked randomly there and then. If possible we would obviously try to get 20 players.

Besides that I had an idea of maybe making a small altfire "tournament" where there would be teams of 3 (picked randomly) that would play vs each other at different scheduled dates and times. It would start off with a point system and then eventually a knockout stage or if not enough players are available a knockout stage immediately.

Just an idea for now I guess..just wanted to share. What do you guys think? I hope something like this will be possible cos it will be fun :)

Peace out homies! :matrix:

Hehe we will see what happens! Obviously when and if this happens we would need to try and balance the teams cos or else it would not be exciting  So you agree too? Good :)

My input would be this;

Have a set time and day every week, have a passworded server for about an hour or so. Take screenshots at the end of each game, then put down in a little table the amount of games played, kills and deaths!

Name Games Kills Deaths
Anihex 5 105 35
666 4 80 48
Nobody 5 88 53

Perhaps we could have - Kills divided by games played to come up with a skill rating or something?

But a valid game would have to be even in team numbers or at least contain no more than 1 extra player each team, so 4vs3 is ok, but 5vs7 is not. Perhaps the password would be exclusively put on gravity-world.com so players wishing to play can come here and get the password, this way we have a server that is full of players that want to play and it should make for a more enjoyable experience?

This is regards the fun war or the tournament idea? Yeah I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea.

For the war it's not such a problem but we will discuss it further to confirm other details. If we will have enough players wanting to take part in the war from before hand and the server will be pretty much full then no need to put a pass on here. However, like you said, if it's dicey then we could put a pass here for those who would like to take part.

Regards the tournament we would preferably make set teams which do not change. If there are problems I guess certain exceptions could be made but first the main part of it must be sorted out..then little details can be filled in later. As long as we agree on something it's fine I guess.

Could you elaborate on the "Kills divided by games played to come up with a skill rating or something?" part please?

Majster we must see who will take part and then the team will be organised later on..however we will obviously try to balance things out. I'm hearing a lot of people saying they want to be with this one or the other one, I'm sure we will sort something out when the time comes but first we have to make sure it happens! :-D

Fear and Schizo would be an unbeatable team, don't need third player.

So this isn't clan war, but more of a tournament?

I'm in, I challenge Anihex to 1 v 1 or Anihex and whoever if I can find a wingman.
