World War 2-CODE-ZERO-Server

Post by Majster »

Shadow, I see there is a password on your server. Does it mean update is coming? 8-)
Have you any plans for the future? I very like your server, it's new and interesting gameplay. What about guns? Is M1 still OP? I heard Poor is working on weapons. Any new maps? Any new vehicles? :)
And another questions. Are skill points needed there? What about the time? I think 30 minutes is too long, maybe change on 15 or 20 minutes?

Oh really? that is a mistake. I will un-password the server in a minute. Thx for telling me.

There are new maps, but I am not sure I should host them all, there's about 8 maps now.
I would like a WW2 version of ligthouse with parachutes. Maybe a WW2 version of yours...

DJ is maybe fiddling with skins, but there is no wep work at the moment.

Poor did make patches for the Clyzm weps, to make them MP-friendly. The balance seems very good.

So you want me to remove skills, I can do that.

I increased the time because the download is very large and one or two players complained the gametime was too short.

The server will go down unfortunately for a few weeks, but while it's down maybe I will talk to you more and we can organize what is best for the server, what it needs etc.

Yes, I will fully support you with this project. :) I think skills aren't needed. About the time, players have to download big package (65MB), but only one time. Anyway, gamingdeluxe is fast and downloading something isn't big problem. ;) 20 minutes sounds better, I think playing 30 minutes on one map is boring, on Altfire Server 20 minutes works very well. You have finished 8 maps, so why not add these all? With mapvote, there is no problem with maps. I know too many maps isn't good for server, but max 15 maps is good restriction. About my map, I wait for some opinions from players and I will work on new version. I can make also WWII version if you want. ^^

We should call the next challenge as "WW2 Challenge" and make maps for your server ;)

Hmm,

ok maybe I should pm you and Kalman the Server control panel and you can take a look at other WW2 maps.

Atrey is working on Fly The Planes, but yes we would love new maps and be very grateful for them.

Wow, looks great, it has that "Enemy At The Gates" feel. We don't have any industrial maps, so fantastic, can't wait...

I have some good references about this place, my sister lives next to this factory (And it looks like the chocolate factory from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) 8-)
Just need to figure out how to make the ground

The best WW2 terrain i saw is probably the last battle in "Saving Private Ryan", some bomb craters, some rubble, some piles of debris. A few uneven bits of ground. It made the fake village look very real. If it had been flat and empty, the village would have looked very fake I think. Mainman used like a total of less than 10 brushes to show rubble, but it worked. Rubble is tricky, it seems to really ruin fps.
