Another common problem in DXMP

Post by ~[FGS]SaSQuATcH~ »

I've been facing this for a while, especially on RTKM server.

Some people seem like having a high firerate and movement rate. I was told that it was because of the high FPS they were getting. When it was found out, more and more people started to abuse that bug thus making games no fun and unplayable for the rest. I don't think that's fair. It's basically like shottiming.

Zora if you're reading this please fix that bug in your next release of Nephtys.

I noticed this too, Chaos was convinced it was a hack, so I'm with him.

You know, that's a bit like saying: "It's not fair he won the race, his car's faster than mine!" But I see where you're coming from. :)

0aug has nothing in common with carracing. In 0augs every player has equal chances.
I'm sure it's not hack. This guy {D}Sniperz seem to want to solve the problem but he failed because he couldn't find out how to limit his FPS. Perhaps he was lying, yes, but in that game I've seen 3 different players (aliasers of course) having the same advantage. If there was a hack, I think we would know about it.
I've also heard it has something in common with dual core processors.

FPS sticks at 60 by default unless you turn vSync on/off whatever.

And yeah dual core processors make you move like that, but trust me it isn't an advantage for the player either, plays metabolic end product for him aswell.

Yea that's why I've requested Sike to be unbanned here, to let him post it here aswell.
However it doesn't stop those who are abusing this bug on purpose.

This hasn't been fixed by a bugrelease yet and it's getting very very annoying.
Even the so called "pros" are abusing this bug, I've just come from RTKM and played a [REN] guy who was using it.
Sike's guide on fixing the bug works only if the player wants the bug fixed and not when the server or the rest of the players do.
The FPS on servers should be limited to 100.

I think it was an earlier release of DirectX10 that was making a really high FPS, something to do with the way it was handling the processor
because I heard of this problem a lot when the new duel core processors came out. I have a quad core now and I never had any FPS problems so that's why I think it is an earlier release of directX10 that caused the problem.
