Caffeine..
Re: Caffeine..
Chris you seem to think government is perfect. It is not by any means perfect and never will be.
There are gunfights in America because our country is filled with ignorant people who think it is cool to kill people. and most guns involved in gunfights are illegal guns with no serial number and no registration. In America in order to own a gun you must first acquire a license, then you have to go to the gun store where they get your fingerprint (depending on the store, this isn't really required but most places do) then you get a gun with a serial number engraved in it (now some also have little microchips in them) and you have to wait a week before you can have to gun you just bought. No one who has the intent to shoot a person will ever buy a gun from a store.
also In America there is a very high poverty rate due to a horrible economy and lazy people. There are only gunfights in places we like to call ghettos, or projects. there has never been a single gunfight in a respectable community of people who are of the upper middle class, which goes to show that whether guns are legal or not has no effect on the rate of people involved in gunfights.
And the "afros" kill themselves to "Protect their hood" because they are ignorant and they seem to think that it is cool to do this. It boosts their "rep" in the eyes of other "afros" especially female "afros". and if they didn't have guns they would just beat each other to death, or cut each other up. So now you are saying with that same reasoning, lets ban knives, fists, and feet. and no the police won't get involved when things like this happen because usually things like gunfights and knife fights and fist fights are gang related. which usually means there are about 50 people beating one or two people to death. and by the time the police have back-up the victims would already be dead whether by gunshot or curb-stomp.
EDIT:
oh and like I said in my other post that was completely ignored, It is a hell of a lot easier for a child to abuse a substance as long as it is illegal. and the children are the ones who are at risk of becoming dependent on a drug because they don't know anything about them except that it gets you high. An adult is much more mature with their own decision making and will actually look at the risks, while a 12 year old can't see past the weekend. and in the case that an adult is not any more mature than a 12 year old. then it is their own fault, not the government's.

Re: Caffeine..
Just because someone has the brain to get a license for his gun doesn't mean he's smart enough to avoid gunbitching.

Re: Caffeine..
lol you missed my point. I was telling you why no one with the intent to kill someone with a gun would ever buy one legally. guns that are bought with the intent to kill a person are unregistered, unlicensed, and are usually shipped from over seas and sold under the table by people who have no affiliation with any legal gun dealers. because if you think about it. If a person is suspected of killing someone the first thing the police do is check and see if they have a gun registered to them. They will ask the person to show them the gun and if they can't produce the gun then they are immediately arrested and held in custody until they find the gun or find out someone else did it. (it is actually illegal to misplace a gun and in the case that you can't find it when the police ask for it you can be charged a fine on top of whatever other charges you might have) and If the police know the person has a gun they can tell when it was fired last, because lets face it, not many people know how to clean a gun and get rid of all the evidence of when it was last fired. and sure there are people who arn't smart enough to buy a gun illegally before they kill someone with it, but that still doesn't matter because all this still has nothing to do with what we were talking about... and even that conversation is off topic...

Re: Caffeine..
You can't actually express the nature of those who are high... Some people get hyperactive some people get slow... As long as you don't have a personal negative experience with these people you will keep supporting the legalization of weed. It's like racism.
And kids will do anything that's forbidden to them by their parents if they want to, no matter wheter it's weed, alcohol or something else. Weed being legal to buy won't make sense in their case because they still couldn't get any under 18, hopefully. As you said, people over 18 are mature enough to decide whether weed is good or bad for them. It doesn't matter whether you're caught on weed or alcohol when driving a car or hitting somebody. You will get busted and punished anyway.

Re: Caffeine..
right... Im a bit confused at that post. Yes kids will do anything. but by legalizing and controlling it, you get rid of the convenience of going to a drug dealer that doesn't care if a child is under 18. sure they can still get it but it is more difficult for them to get it and hopefully it would reduce the frequency of the drug use at the very least. as far as the racism thing. Sure everyone is affected by chemicals differently, and yes some people have bad experiences with people who are high. Most of the bad experiences are perceived as bad experiences because of how much the government tries to blame on weed. but yes I have heard of a few genuine cases of a bad experience with someone who is high. (most of the time alcohol was involved as well, but to the person who had the experience it makes no difference.) is this not enough reason for it to be legal? If legalizing something that is considered bad will help prevent children from abusing a drug that could potentially damage their still-developing brain, sure it won't eliminate the use completely but neither does keeping it illegal. At the very least it gets a lot of honest people out of prison, people who love their family as much as anyone else. People who go to work everyday and work hard to get money for their family, never miss a day but like to go home and relax and smoke a little weed to just calm down and enjoy their afternoon.
EDIT: I do think that driving while affected by any drug is irresponsible I don't care whether it is weed or alcohol. anything that puts other people's lives in danger is wrong.

Re: Caffeine..
The fact that you need the weed to relax and then you get pissed off when you don't have it to relax (speaking from experience). That's where the problem begins to lie...
Re: Caffeine..
true but the same thing happens to an alcoholic when they have no booze. It worries me that i get pissed off at everything a lot easier without it, but that is a risk you take when you do drugs. Its called withdrawal and even people who smoke tobacco get the same way. trust me though speaking from experience weed withdrawal is nothing compared to quitting cigarettes, that was agonizing and would have been impossible for me without weed. now smoking tobacco makes me sick... i tried smoking a black and mild last night and it made me throw up. (I had a very rough night and I was stressed out beyond belief, and I still can't smoke weed yet)
