Energy balls going up and down the corridors is what made pacman fun. That and telefragging people who go into the portal. Maybe it could be like Scout, energy rifle and sword only.

hmm... the lam debate.

Well Pop-n-Fresh has a request. He can not join forums due to some error but wishes to say "Pacman Please".


Alternative suggestions to lams and vac

1. Lams no vac.
2. Reduced lams only, like a CS nade.
3. RX lams, no vac

I think vac is nooby as hell due to it being hidden more easily than a lam. I think if lams and vac like before, then a lot of maps will have to be removed, especially prodigy, twinz, maps like that and have mainly outdoor maps. For me, ideal solution would be a reduced lam and no vac at all, not very altfire sci fi I admit. Lams and no vac is better than vac and no lams. But I appreciate that's a minority view perhaps.

Also, since PC's progressed, where's autoshotgun? I know some people hated it's removal.

Probably hella late but here are my two cents (not that they matter):

8_Red: What's the problem with this map exactly? It use to be one of my favorite maps. If the issue is the wall camping, it's not harder to hit people on there then it is hitting people camping roof in A51. You just have to know where to look. Just like with A51 where you try to position yourself so their 'contour' shows up against the background. Same can be done on 8_Red. If the room you play in is properly dark it's even easier.
If the problem is spawncamping: quick reflexes with the doors can save your life, also crouchspamming like a dad (pardon my french) when leaving, and immediatly jumping/zig zagging when leaving can help too.

Pacman: this map is a horrible map for Altfire. The weapons are too strong for the size of the map. It would be the same like Iceworld with Altfire weapons...

Fly The Planes: only played this when it was in testing still. Was big, but like Chinny said, real fun to chase enemies around in and the castle fights were epic iirc (+ the picture of Icho:) )

Orbital: I'm not sure if I have the right map in my mind. But if it's the one with the above ground part and the massive tunnel part, The top part is VERY suited for Altfire play. One of the best designed Altfire maps made imo (same with Skyline <3<3<3). The tunnels are a bit meh iirc. But like I said, I'm not sure if I'm thinking on the right map, some Ss might give me a better sight on it :) (the top part had a 'broken' part of the CMD entrance hall in it, there was also an A51 type of bunker (you know with the sattelite dish on) and some trenches.)

Encounter: a VERY fun map to play on Altfire, allthough matches resulted in roof camping a lot, and some brave souls trying to invade but getting picked off by the snipers. Intense 20 min though.

Amtrack: I like it, but the bug(? I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended) where you can crawl all the way up the mountain and hide behind a little bump and just camp the whole map made it a bit meh. The tunnels made for some epic invades though.

Pyramid: is this the Anubis map you were working on Shadow?

And on the vac grenade... Shadow you were the one who taught me to always fire energy bolts at corners/ladders/doors before passing them in SG...

Pyramid, no. I think it was made in 2003/4 or even 2001/2. I started mapping in 2005/6.

Airstrike on a map SIMILAR to Twinz? Hosted on 0-Grav Server. I have 3 towers maybe 4, a bunker within one tower, tunnels Similar to CMD V1. Thoughts on this half already made map. or a big no no for AS for a map with Sky Scrapers. Any opinions?

We are all waiting for FACE to release airstrike mod, which is scheduled for future release.
I intend to incorporate in some SG maps. Could even be good in WW2, if the aircraft noise can be changed.
